New Catalinas at Kroger

It's a Kroger Mega Event!!!!

Ok everyone time to get shopping because Kroger is having another one of their Mega Events!  I love the Mega Event because you get $5 off for every 10 participating items you buy.  Here is a tip for those of you who have a hard time keeping track of how many participating items you have in your cart.  Take your reusable shopping bags in with you and place your ten in each bag so if you buy 50 items you have 5 bags and 10 items per bag.  Keeps you from having to keep counting and counting to make sure you have enough to get your $5 off.  Thanks to Jenny at Southern Savers for this tip.  Ok so go here to find out what's on sale and the coupons to match up with it!

I'm baaaaacccckkkk!!!!

Did you miss me? Well probably not but that is ok I'm here now :) Ok so I have been out of sorts for a while and I won't bore you with the long story just smile because I'm back! Ok so my goal (for those of you who follow me on facebook or twitter) is to get my grocery budget for May to be only a cool $200! Now for those of you super duper extreme couponers this may sound like a huge amount, but for my family it is quite paltry to say the least. So as of my first trip to the grocery store in May I will keep an accout of what I have spent and what I have saved. I will also link you to my favorite shopping sites and maybe post a few freebies and cheap deals too! Until May my friends!!!!

What's been going on

My blog has been silent now for a little while and I must apologize for that. My home computer has crashed and I have not had a computer to update on in quite some time. I have pictures from my last run but don't have the ability to upload them. So a post with prices and such will just have to do for now. My Publix run this week was AMAZING! I had so many coupons that the cashier had to keep calling the manager to over ride the system. The manager then made a few discouraging remarks about whether or not I actually bought the items, but I stood my ground and they gave me my groceries.

Publix: before coupons $202.83
after coupons: $83.73
saved: $119.10!!!!!!!!

My next trip was to Bi-Lo and I racked up big time there too. I did have a little trouble with getting my free items like I was supposed to (they like to make their own rules from time to time about doubling the coupons) but this wasn't anything that a good call to corporate didn't fix.
